A few months ago I wouldn't have thought it possible, but the 3 letters of the alphabet that I'm beginning to hate more than "MAP" are "TPS." I found that my engine either idles well or rough depending on whether I jiggle my TPS plug, so I'm thinking there's a bad connection. Does anyone know if the GS-R TPS plug is the same as on my typeR? I'm pretty sure the throttle body is different, so I thought I'd start by trying to replace the plug first.

The plug may be the same (depending on model years), however, the GSR TPS reads to 5.0v whereas the Type "R" TPS only reads to 4.5v. This means that the actual sensors themselves are NOT interchangeable.

Yep, I've already discovered that I can't replace the TPS sensor itself. I have to buy the whole throttle body ($600ish) to get the sensor. I'm hoping that if I have a bad connection at the plug, it's on the plug-side and not on the sensor-side.

That is not true, you can remove the tps buy using a dremel. With the cutting wheel cut down the middle. Then get a flat head screwdriver and voila.. it's off. Find a throttle body @ a junk yard or something.

Gsrev is correct, I'm using currently using a TPS from a 5th gen civic on my alternate TBs.
